This project has been underway for some time now. It all started to come to life when we lived in Boston, US, back 2018/2019. That’s when this picture was taken, in our home on Commonwealth Ave. At the time I wrote a post about the book, noting that “being a slow writer and extremely impatient at the same time, I expect this to be a both haunting and exhausting experience”. Boy, was I right about that.

The project actually took a detour for some time and instead of working on the book, I instead wanted to create an exhibition format that I called “The Queen's Speech”. Unfortunately, I didn’t succeed in getting all the needed funding at the time, so at some point I decided to take things into my own hands again and picked back up on the writing. The Covid-19 pandemic gave me a little extra time and kind of kickstarted things as well.

For a while, I called the project/concept “World Downfall” but that changed along the way. Guess I was afraid to scare off too many people with that title.
